When people think about an end of the year holiday, it is usually images of sunny beaches, and scenic backdrops while sipping margaritas in your summer clothes.

The thought of a cold, wintry, snow filled holiday is usually not on the top of a vacationers ‘to do’ list.

Even ore so when there is now skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing to be had!

If you’re wondering what place I am talking about, it is the lovely northern European nation of Iceland.

Set just East of Scandinavia, Iceland boasts a remarkable climate and culture.

With a name like Iceland, most people think the land is inhabitable, which is furthest from the truth.

The country actually boasts some spectacular sights, things to do and has a great friendly culture that travellers will fall in love with.

Iceland only boasts a population of about 320,000, and only a few major cities, one of which is the capital Reykjavik.

While there are some pretty cool snow and ice locations to check out, it is only one part of the countries beauty.

As well as some of the worlds greatest ice bergs, ice platforms, and interesting winter climates, there is plenty of other things that will grab your attention.

These include volcano spurts, jaw dropping waterfalls, and some very unique wildlife.

Whether it is just for the sake of going to one of the worlds coldest nations, or for the natural beauty on offer, Iceland will be sure to stay in you memory forever as being one of the most interesting and unique countries on the map.
