The giant reality TV series, Survivor, is headed back to the Oceania region for its latest, and 19th, series.
After dabbling in Africa, and then Brazil, the Mark Burnett production finds its way back to the exotic islands of Samoa.
The reason?
Well, in short, Samoa is by far one of the most appealing and beautiful countries in the world.
As well as offering some stunning backdrops for the viewers at home, it also has an abundance of sightseeing, and activities to partake in while in the area.
The country is located just south of the equator, about halfway between Hawaii and New Zealand in the French Polynesian region of the Pacific Ocean.
Samoa is made up of two large islands, Upolu and Savaii, which occupy 2934 km² and account for 99% of the total land area.
Eight small islets are also found in the area, but they are so small it is hard to find habitants there.
The main island of Upolu is home to nearly three-quarters of Samoa’s population, and is home to the nation’s capital city, Apia.
The climate of the country is tropical, with an average annual temperature of 27 degrees.
The wet season begins in November and ends during April, and it is in these months where the real natural beauty of Samoa can be seen.
Whether it is the heat, humidity, natural beauty, or even an obsession with Survivor that makes you venture over to the islands of Samoa, the one thing that is for sure, is that you will not be disappointed in what you see.
